Drew Ermenc

Bio

Drew spent nearly two decades as an e-commerce entrepreneur before joining Quiet Light — buying, building and exiting multiple businesses. Having trusted Quiet Light with his most recent exit, he knows firsthand what the process looks and feels like from the seller’s seat.
Before e-commerce, Drew’s diverse career led him from business journalism to enterprise management consultancy to co-founding a business accelerator and co-working space. That breadth — operator, strategist, community builder — shapes how he sees and communicates the value of the businesses he represents today.
Drew joined Quiet Light with a simple goal: To help business owners understand what they’ve built and exit at the right time, for the right price.

Q&A with Drew

What is the #1 mistake people make when selling their online business?

Most owners think about selling passively, but the best exits happen when a seller is actively working on cleaning up books, documenting processes, and reducing owner dependency — ideally one to two years before listing. A second mistake is trying to time the market. It’s not an ideal strategy.

What drew you to make your career online?

Honestly, it started out of necessity — I needed the flexibility to work remotely for family obligations. But around that same time I read Elaine Pofeldt’s The Million Dollar, One Person Business, and something clicked. I realized the ceiling in the online world was completely different than anything I’d known before. Those two things together pulled me in, and I never looked back.

Did you always know that you were going to be an entrepreneur?

Yes — for better or worse, it’s in my blood. I’m actually a fourth-generation entrepreneur. My great-grandmother owned a bar, a hotel, a restaurant, and a bottling company, among other ventures. She was quite a woman for her time.

What is the greatest benefit of helping people sell their online businesses?

There’s nothing quite like knowing you’ve built something that A) customers are willing to spend money on and B) someone else wants to buy. We’re blessed to be in a space where we can truly help entrepreneurs complete their dream.

If you could have just one superpower, what would it be?

As a child of the 80s, I have a vivid memory of Superman flying around the earth to reverse time and save Lois Lane from the earthquake in one of the Superman movies. That always stuck with me. The ability to turn back time? That would be a killer superpower.

What is the best bit of advice you ever received?

I’ve always tried to live by the quote: ‘Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.’ Personally and professionally. In business especially, your reputation is everything — and it’s built in the moments when no one will ever know whether you did the right thing.

If you could have dinner with just one person (they don’t have to be living still), who would it be?

My dad. I lost him in November, 2025. One more dinner with him over a beer and wings would be just about perfect.
