Q&A with David

What is the #1 mistake people make when selling their website?

Coming to market too late after they have decided to sell. This can mean the business is not well prepared for exit, leaving value on the table instead of planning the sale properly. It can also make sellers impatient and emotionally spent before the process begins, causing them to make poor decisions abouts buyers, offers, and the eventual exit itself.

What drew you to make your career online?

Freedom of movement worldwide (I love to travel) and the scope for global impact and connection. My own business – Inner Truth – touches tens of thousands of people each month and it’s amazing to connect such a diverse audience worldwide.

Did you always know that you were going to be an entrepreneur?

I always knew I wanted to offer something individual and unique to the world but it took me a lot of time to acquire the knowledge I needed and mature the skillset ahead of making the transition. Being a solo entrepreneur is such an inner journey of growth so taking the time to prepare was important for me. Spending time with lots of other entrepreneurs was key!

What is the greatest benefit of helping people sell their online businesses?

For me I think the greatest benefit of anything is being at service to others. Helping someone sell their online business is a trusted role and a privilege I take with deep responsibility. Honouring that trust with great service and a successful sale is massively rewarding.

If you could have just one superpower, what would it be?

Flying for sure! I would need a lot of warm clothes though, I get cold enough just on Earth 🙂

What is the best bit of advice you ever received?

Stop and observe before you take action.

If you could have dinner with just one person (they don’t have to be living still), who would it be?

Jordan Peterson. His understanding of philosophy, theology, mythology, and psychology, is incredible!

Testimonials

“Where do I even begin with the excellent experience I had with Quiet Light Brokerage and David Newell. As a person who has bought and sold several companies in the internet space I could not have asked for a more professional process from beginning to end. Dealing with several brokers over the years I have been able to get a great perspective on their responsibilities and the good ones from the pretenders and I do not believe I will be able to find a broker like David Newell At Quiet Light again. Selling a business in the seven figures requires a broker that is at the top of his game and finds problems and solves them and most importantly tells you the truth and not what you want to hear like most brokers.

Selling your business is a very stressful situation but they were able to provide guidance through all the ups and downs to help make it an enjoyable experience because they were prepared for about any situation even ones that I never considered. I was blessed to find them. They were able to sell my business quickly at a fair price and I will be using them in the future to buy and Sell future businesses lord willing.”

“Our decision to sell our business was one of the biggest decisions of our lives. We had vetted a few brokers and settled on Quiet Light due to their reputation and recommendations from others in the e-commerce space. David was amazing from start to finish. He was professional and timely in communication. He helped us get everything organized and ready for the sale, and offered so much insight into the whole process. When it came time for final negotiations he helped structure a deal that worked well for both us and the buyer. I couldn’t be happier and hope to work with David again in the near future!”
