The current owner, an entrepreneur since childhood, started this business after a few years of working in agriculture. The cyclical nature of yearly purchases combined with the low shipping weight and strong retail markup make these products perfect for an FBA business. The inclusion of organic vegetable, herb, and fruit seeds sets the company apart from the competition, which is already kept low due to Amazon’s restriction on seed sellers from outside the US.

With 99% of sales coming from Amazon, there is plenty of room for growth by expanding to additional channels. There is a huge market for seed packet favors for weddings and other celebrations, which could be added to the product line with a focus on packaging rather than additional seed types. There are many gardening-adjacent product categories that would add value, such as Gardening Tools, Potting Soil, and Fertilizers. Social media has not been utilized despite the large audience in the Gardening niche, presenting another opportunity for growth.

The current owner spends between 20 and 40 hours per week operating the business, depending on the season. Inventory is split, with 10% at Amazon FBA and 90% at the current warehouse; the latter can easily be shipped to Amazon or a new location.
