Established in early 2001, this 23-year-old B2B business in the Medical Education industry is a leader in its field. The business prides itself on providing non-promotional, fairly balanced, and accurate medical writing services to its professional clients (typically medical education companies) when their clients’ internal staff are too overwhelmed, which happens quite easily and often. The Medical Education industry is there to help doctors become aware of new therapeutics in the pipeline, as pharmaceutical companies are not allowed to create these materials themselves. These may take the form of journal articles, news articles, conference presentations, slide decks, etc.

The company has a unique and effective method for recruiting exceptional writers that also generates revenue. Writers with advanced science degrees (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, DMV, DDS) must register and pay for a proprietary course, and only about one-third of those who enroll in the course successfully complete it. This has resulted in a 70-person all-star team of writers. A significant advantage for this company is the high quality of work produced, ensured by this revenue-generating course.

The online and remote nature of their business allowed the company to peak during COVID, because unlike many businesses with an office and onsite employees, the company experienced no disruption at all and was positioned to immediately take on projects. They also gained a few new clients during that time. While revenue has trended down slightly since the peak, they continue to far exceed their pre-COVID revenue levels.
