Bryan O’Neil
Bio

Bryan is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for cutting-edge technology, business intelligence and the world of buying and selling online businesses.
Having years of experience in the online business acquisitions industry, Bryan was one of the original co-founders and a director of Flipping Enterprises (later renamed and incorporated as FE International), as well as a co-founder and the concept creator of Centurica – the world’s first website due diligence agency. Bryan was also hired as a consultant to launch Flippa.com’s brokerage service, Deal Flow, prior to joining QLB.
Prior to the ‘online acquisitions era’, Bryan was involved in various online projects, both as a consultant and an investor, as well as in the online gaming industry, where he used to run the Marketing and Customer Service department of a prominent online poker operator.
Bryan also owns and runs various online businesses himself, most of which operate passively, with their own teams and project managers in place.
Q&A with Bryan
What is the #1 mistake people make when selling their website?
As a broker, it would be easy to say “not consulting with a professional”, but digging deeper, the primary mistake that I keep seeing is sellers abandoning their business or making significant changes to it right before the sale or, worse still, during the sale. With most buyers looking for continuity, this often creates issues at best, or makes the business unsellable at worst.
What drew you to make your career online?
I’ve been surrounded by computers for as long as I can remember, and coming from a tech-savvy family, I started fiddling around with ‘everything online’ since the very early days of the World Wide Web.
This, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit and always wanting to achieve more, has quite naturally led me to online business
Did you always know that you were going to be an entrepreneur?
In my life I’ve had a total of two ‘real jobs’, one of which was a part-time IT consulting gig when I was 14 years old. Apart from this, I’ve always liked the freedom, the possibilities, as well as the responsibilities that being an entrepreneur brings – starting from age 16 when I started my first (offline, but IT-related) business.
What is the greatest benefit of helping people sell their online businesses
It’s an incredibly nice feeling to hear back from someone I’ve helped sell or buy a business after years, listening to their success stories and how their lives (both personal and professional) have developed since, knowing that I’ve played a role in what’s often a significant once-in-a-lifetime event.
I also very much enjoy getting to have a first hand look ‘under the hood’ of the vast number of very different online businesses out there, and keeping up with the trends and industry developments.
If you could have just one superpower, what would it be?
Intangibility. I’ve been locked out of my house (and car) too many times! 🙂 Although the power to heal and superhuman intelligence would both come close second.
What is the best bit of advice you ever received?
“Work smart, not hard”. For a long time, I made the common mistake of assuming that more work = better results, until I learnt in my mid-twenties to differentiate between ‘smart work’ and ‘filler work’, and started doing everything in my power to eliminate the latter. Being busy has never made anyone rich.
If you could have dinner with just one person (they don’t have to be living still), who would it be?
There are too many to count – from Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking to Andrew Carnegie and Richard Mellon, but if it has to be one person then it would be my late Granddad, whom I unfortunately only had the pleasure of meeting a handful of times during my adult life.
Testimonials
“Working with Bryan and QLB went super smooth. Within 10 days of listing the business, we had seven interested buyers. A week later we had two full price offers. A few days later we had a signed letter of intent. Doesn’t get much better than that! Bryan was great at helping us navigate the whole process and working on our behalf to bring both sides to agreement on a deal. We’re so happy with how everything turned out for us and the buyer.”
– Jeff Perlot, ISN Labs
“Bryan is the kind of person you could hand a million dollars to and come back the next day to pick it up. His level of trust, expertise, and professionalism makes him the go to person for selling your web property. If I had to do it all over again, I would ask for Bryan by name knowing what I know now. Thank you for your guidance on the sale!”

“QuietLightBrokerage has been exceptional from the first moment of our interaction with them. Before we put the listing on the air, during the whole process of finding and talking to buyers, during due diligence, close to the end as well as post-sale, providing full support and guidance at any stage.
We dealt with Bryan, who answered all of our questions very quickly every single time. We felt that our interests were served as well at any stage by Bryan, when dealing with potential buyers at the negotiations stage which was also great.
Cannot recommend working with QuietLightBrokerage enough if you wish to sell your next business – you should certainly reach out to Bryan/QuietLightBrokerage”

“Towards the end of 2018, I began searching for some assistance with the sale of my previous business, ContentPros.io. From the moment I reached out to Bryan, I knew he was different from the other brokers I had been speaking to. For one, Bryan showed a tremendous interest (high attention to detail) in our business. Shortly after engaging in an official agreement with him, Bryan found us interested buyers immediately, and ultimately helped us negotiate a deal that we were extremely satisfied with. I can’t recommend Bryan enough and would gladly list with him again!”
